You guys that have NNBS (late 2007 and up) Tahoes, what mgp are you averaging? I am currently looking at getting a 2008 z71 Tahoe (2WD) and just curious to see what a real world avg mpg is. The EPA rating is 14 city and 19 highway.

I get 15.1 in the city and 17.5 on the hwy. This is with a heavy foot and 22's.

beach trips where there is a lot of hwy use plus some traffic during the vacation is would be around 22 mpg IIRC. mine has the cylinder shut off deal so on the hwy if you can moderate the pedal well, you can get decent mileage.

bone stock company vehicle. its the aluminum block 5.3, and the guy driving has a police issue foot. however he said he could baby it and get around 25. he wanted to swap the 3.08 gear for a 3.73 gear but the factory wouldnt do it. (3.73 is a factory option) with the 3.08 gear it doesnt have near the pull of his '04 with the 5.3/3.73. company mandates vehicles be less than 5 years old so he had to trade that one in on the '10.

lol....yeah, its 2WD. The z71 is also an apperance package along with the normal towing and off-road type pacakges (fender flares, different tires, etc.). The z71 is also a 3LT package so this thing has pretty much everything but 4WD. This will be the wife's daily driver.

Pulled the trigger on a 2008 Z71 3LT Tahoe (2WD) last friday. Drove it up to gatlinburg this weekend. Used about 3/4 of a tank on the highway driving before filling up and got 19.2 mpg. Used about another 3/4 of tank through the mountains before filling up and got 16.4 mpg. This is with 4 adults in the vehicle riding about 5 mph over the speed limit. The tahoe is completely stock.

lol....I always thought the z71's were 4WD as well. Now (maybe always has been?) the z71 is a package that does not include 4 wheel drive. The ones that are 4WD have "4x4" just under the z71 badge.

I wasnt looking for a 2WD z71, it just happened that this Tahoe had all the features we wanted (leather, navi, sunroof) and was cheaper than the LTZ's. I also kinda like the small appearance differences of the z71 from the other Tahoe's.
