Growing up my dad had this old green 65 stepside truck. wood bed, 3 on the tree, inline 6. nothing fancy at all.
bought it for $900 way back when and sold it for $700 and drove it for 15+ years I think it was. When he was talking about selling it me and my brother begged him to keep it for us but he sold it to a guy he worked with. We asked dad the other day if that guy still had it, he thought so and called him. Brother and Dad are over there looking at the truck and he sent me a pic.

you may as well buy it, and let it rust in your yard.

you will regret not getting back, later on.

and plus, it would make cool story in Hot Rod Magazine when you have a twin turbo LS3 in it

That would be sweet. I love the old rat rod looks of people welding rusted looking metal together.

LSx it, turbo it, and put a bitchen suspension on it, leave the rust smile

Well, we talked to the man, right after making this thread...and it did not go well for us.
He said the bidding starts at $1k, had some other guy interested in it...and I guess he was b/c it was at the TintPlus/Hooters car show last weekend.
He lowered it, put fat tires on the back and replaced the wood floor with a piece of metal. Not sure about engine/trans but had a shifter in the floor so I assume a Th350/400 set up.

I am 99% sure this was my dad's, not many green rusty trucks and it had the ONS parking decal on the front bumper still and the NRA sticker on back glass.
