Awww crap got a noisey lifter....

Anything I can dump in with the oil to temporarily quit this down till I can get the $$ for a new lifter set? Ive heard a pint of transmission fluid can help?

Ask around, I'm sure someone has a set laying around. But you won't listen to me anyway, hope its not a wiped lobe from that regrind.

I heard saw dust works well too. Seriously!!!!! If the noise is that bad you've got something wrong and any bandaids you can come up with are going to make it worse in the long run.

I obtained a set of lifters tonight (thanks for offering Matt) Gonna tear into it sat, if the cam looks bad I have an ls1 cam from my GTO I can use. It's definatly a valvetrain noise, pushrod length was good when I installed the hot cam and comp pushrods.

transmission fluid dump the oil put 6 quarts in and let it idle for about 5 mins then put oil back in it and im not joking

I thought I had a valvetrain noise, it sounded like a lifter tap. Then it started making a different noise that sounded like a cricket. It ended up being an exhaust leak at the headers. I'd check that first before tearing into the motor again

No exhaust leak, definatly valvetrain. almost like a metalic baseball card on bicycle spokes!
