just got this in an email from work...

Throughout the US on November 9th, the Federal Emergency Management Administration, Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Communications Commission will conduct the first national test of the Nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS). The test will kick off at 2 p.m. (EST) and will be nationwide, running concurrently across all time zones.
This system test is the first of its kind. It is designed to broadcast a nationwide message to the American public. Nothing like it has been conducted in the history of the country. There have been tests in the past but none to all parts of the Nation at the same time. The test will run concurrently on all radio and TV bands for three (3) minutes. Most messages in the past ran anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute.
If you are in the US on November 9th, please note that the EAS system will be tested at 2:00 p.m. The test message on TV might not indicate that this is just a test. The lack of an explanation message might create panic. Please share this information so that the public will be aware of the test.
For more information on the test please visit: http://www.fema.gov/emergency/ipaws/eas_info.shtm

I wonder of NObama will use it as a free campaign address. For some strange reason I get flashbacks to movies with the government propaganda messages broadcasted throughout the cities.
