was the car at ride height when you did all this? it looks like a shit ton of angle. if joe's shocks look the same, and he did it the same way you did i would be willing to bet they both have a shit ton of pinion angle.

have you noticed any vibration?

The only way to correct the brackets with the pinion angle would be to go up. The car was on level ground when it was done.

I will get it in the garage in the morning and take some detailed pictures for you.

thats exactly what i think it needs, just by looking at the pictures you posted. right now you have:

rearend \ / driveshaft

you need it to be closer to this:

rearend _ _ driveshaft

nose of rearend needs to go up about a foot or 2. put the angle finder on the bottom of the driveshaft, and then move it to the bottom of the torque arm mount on the rear. the needle on the angle finder should only move 2-3 degrees. from the pic it looks like the needle will move 10+ degrees.

My shocks arent even close to Matt's, they are at a very very slight angle on the mount.

if matt's car has a dicked up pinion angle, he will make the 3rd or 4th car i know of personally that was screwed up using madmans advise. you cant just point the rearend down 2 degrees and it be right. yet nobody listens to me, they always say "but madman has worked on all those crazy fast cars"

lol

sometimes, ride height and other variables lands his method close though.

umm, i think you're stressing over nothing.

the reason the shock mounts using rubber bushings top and bottom, is because its supposed to deflect and move. its not going to overstress anything.

just make sure your axle is located properly.
then make sure your pinion angle is set right.
then dont worry about the shocks.. they're fine.
