30k (ish) ago i installed this rear from a ls1 car...no shavings on the magnet....i noticed some whine a couple of months ago and noticed my cover lip was bent from improper jack placement...few whacks of the hammer and some more fluid and it was all good.....well i just got around to installing some supsension stuff today and pulled the cover to install my ta girdle....is this all that bad...is it effed?? ive never worked on rear ends other than swapping this one in

I've seen them with about 1/4" layer of metal shavings on them, like scooping peanut butter with your finger thick...

K good to know...it doesn't whine with the proper fluid level and none of the teeth are chipped or over worn looking....ima put in new fluid and button it up...

Also just checking..99+ z28 rear...torsen posi...no additive needed...just syn rear end fluid
